Screwed down Martin bridges?

Does anyone know if Martin ever used screws to reinforce bridge attachment? I have seen several guitars for sale with what look like pearloid screw covers in the bridge that owners swear are original.B

Martin never screwed down their bridges.If an owner claims its original perhaps it was on the guitar when he/she originally got it.They could also be full of beans, too.

Seems to me that if Martin had done a little more R&D on the neck and less on concern about the bridge pulling off the 12 strings they might have saved themselves a ton of money in warrantee work....

The cited D12-20 photo in the catalog most likely predates the 1964 production run......the same pic also appears in the 1966 catalog as well....I am not sure if there was a 1964 catalogso I don't...
